Gosfield Hall Wedding Photography – Michael & Rebecca’s Wedding
This was our first visit to to this stunning Essex Wedding Venue for Michael & Rebecca’s wedding at Gosfield Hall and we are so glad that they booked us as their Gosfield Hall Wedding Photographers. This was an amazing day with Micheal & Rebecca surrounded by their beautiful children, family & friends it was a really wonderful wedding to be part of. The day started with torrential rain but as we arrived at the hall out came the sun and I grabbed a few shots of Michael Jane photographed Rebecca in what can only be described as the most amazing Bridal suite ever!!! it was stunning. Rebecca threw tradition to the side & walked up the aisle with their 2 children for a very emotional ceremony followed by drinks & canopies in the courtyard filled with laughter. Gosfield Hall is perfect for our style wedding photography, beautiful Gardens and low light interiors all topped of by the Great Hall for the meal & speeches. Just when you thought this wedding couldn’t get any better the evening celebrations erupted by a surprise appearance from Beverley Knight who I have to say has the most amazing voice, boy can she sing!!! All in all a truly memorable day with wonderful people in a wonderful setting, lets say we were very happy photographers on the way home. Here is a small selection of our favourite images we hope you love them D&J xx Thanks to Michael,Rebecca & their family & friends for their hospitality & to Jan at Gosfield Hall for all her help. If your planning a wedding at Gosfield Hall and are looking for an experienced Gosfield Hall Wedding Photographer then please don’t hesitate to get in touch, we would love to vista this venue again. D&J xx
I started presenting Wedding Photography Workshops at the beginning of the year and it was a huge honour to be asked by the one of the worlds leading camera manufacturers Hasselblad to host a Wedding Workshop in conjunction with Broncolour Lighting,Epson Uk & Eizo Monitors at the stunning Chateau Impney in Worcestershire UK. The day was brilliant with delgates from all over the UK learning how I shoot weddings with my Hasselblad & a few wedding photography tips along the way We woke up to the most glorious day, beautiful sunshine and the day started with a slideshow of how I approach photographing the wedding, what I am looking for on the day & how I achieve the look & images I want. The hands on part of the day started in the Bridal suite with our model Sophie I love to get different effects in camera, one way of softening an image is to shoot through the Brides veil, it gives a 20′s style look & feel to the image Then it was outside into the hot sunshine & enter the Broncolour Move lighting and Jane demonstrating how she throws the veil to get the best look, not to high… not to low The Broncolour Move runs from a battery pack that seemed to last forever and was light & portable, so handy for Weddings and on a sunny day like we had it really lifted the images and gave them a bit of punch The image quality from Hasselblad cameras is phenomenal, the detail & dynaic range of these cameras just blows me away I thought I would give the flash a proper test and see just how powerful it was and as you see below it had no problems… remember this was approx 3pm on the sunniest day of the year & the broncolour wasnt at full power, crazy!!!! I also wanted to show the delegates that you CAN hand hold the Hasselblad camera and use as a dslr style camera and so speeding up the picture taking This was more my usual style of shooting using a reflector held by Jane to the side of Sophie and bouncing the light back into her. Chateau Impneys grounds are vast and a photographers dream so down to the river we went for a different style of image. I wanted something a bit more fairytale, more bohemian so Sophie threw off her shoes & in glorious sunshine walked along the river bank to capture some gorgeous casual images Back inside to the stunning staircase & another aspect of the Broncolour system is the daylight balanced LED Video light solving the problem of low light I love this image & a great photograph to end a fantastic day, back to the room to download our images using the Eizo monitors & then printed out by Epson UK so the delegates could not only see their results but also take them home. A Huge thank you to Hasselblad, Broncolour UK, Epson UK and Eizo Monitors for all their help and the huge contributions they made, to Chateau Impney for their hospitality and importantly a massive Thank You to all the delgates who came to learn how to shoot weddings with Hasselblad cameras, I had such fun and have made so many new friends. A fantastic day & heres to my NEXT Wedding Photography Workshop…. very soon, watch this space. ps…… If anybody is planning their wedding photography at Chateau Impney then please give me a call, would love to shoot a wedding here. Well what a fantastic experience and honour to be asked by two of the BIGGEST names in photography to give a presentation about our business & how we create our images at Europes largest photography trade show Focus On Imaging. Focus attracts over 40,000 visitors over the 4 days it runs at the NEC in Birmingham and is a most for ALL photographers. Our first talk was on the Sunday (the busiest day) for Graphistudio and it was such a thrill to see so many people attending infact they overspilled into the side walkways and blocked them (this may be why people stayed till the end:)) Graphistudio are the worlds largest & most prestigious wedding album manufacturer & by coincidence we use their albums for you our clients aswell so it was a huge honour to be asked by them to talk about how & why we shoot our weddings. The next day found us on the Hasselblad stand again explaining how we shoot weddings and create our images. Hasselblad are the Rolls Royce of camera’s and the choice of TOP professional photographers all over the world (thats why we use them). I have to say I was a little nervous as the audience consisted of Internationally famous fashion & commercial photographers, so no pressure but hey you know me once I start talking…… It was also great to be shooting live infront of people, easy when your models are the fantastic Katie Green, (yes you have seen her on TV and in adverts) & Vicki Blatchley and also great to meet up with industry friends old & new. So whats next after Focus On Imaging, well we have some great new bits of techy gear I cant wait to start using on our weddings & portraits, watch this space so much more to follow…. 2013 is going to be gooood :). ttfn D x
Focus On Imaging is the biggest (if not the biggest) photography trade show in Europe, Last year over 40,000 people attended over 4 days. I am honoured to have been asked by our Album suppliers Graphistudio to present a seminar about our approach to Wedding Photography and how we shoot Weddings & design albums on Sunday the first day of the show. Not only have Graphistudio asked me but also Hasselblad Cameras (Hasselblad are the worlds BEST cameras, the Rolls Royce of our industry) have asked me to present a talk on Monday regarding our Wedding & Portrait photography. Two huge honours that I am excited about and opens a different phase of my career as after being asked for many years I have now started to train other photographers to help them improove their images & customer approach and for you photographers reading this blog, please come along and say Hi.
