2018 – A Year Of Moments

This annual post looking back on the year is one of our favourite posts that we do (Yes I know we need to blog more) Its when we get chance to look back at what happened, a time to take stock and reflect at just how amazing a year we all have had.

Wedding Photography can be so challenging, the moments just fly past and its important that you capture them, and yes while we love our ‘Hero’ shots and our signature images its the moments between the moments that we love and thats what makes up the majority of our look back at 2018.

Now we say this every year…. this is NOT a best of, its photographs that mean something to US, photos that made us smile, laugh, cry or just make us want to go back to that moment.

There so many memories behind these wedding images, from wedding venues 5 minutes from our house to Scottish castles and the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, we have been truly blessed this year with stunning locations and just the best couples, so with that in mind this blog post really is a thank you to YOU for allowing us to be a small part of your amazing memories and thats why we keep saying it…. we do have the best job in the world.

So heres to all our amazing couples who have given us the most awesome memories that we will treasure forever, thank you for your trust in us, thank you for your lovely warm comments throughout the year but mainly thank you for your friendship and for these memories……

When it comes to fairytale weddings then you have to have a Castle and set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside is the stunning Peckforton castle and just perfect backdrop for our style of creative wedding photography.

Claire and Ashi are just a bundle of fun and a joy to photograph, from their wedding pre shoot we just knew these guys would be amazing on their wedding day and boy where they just 🙂

One of the best parts of the day is when we photograph the bride getting ready and the excitement that seems to rise during the morning, it just sets the tone for the whole day and lets just say excitement was on level 11

As a Peckforton Castle Wedding Photographer the Great Hall at Peckforton Castle is one of our favourite wedding photography locations, the lighting is gorgeous and when the hall is dressed with flowers and candles it just looks stunning.

After drinks in the grounds it was time for the speeches and WOW they where brilliant. Full of laughter and tears just as we like them.

The largest EVER letter lights was the backdrop for a great first dance before everybody hit the dancefloor to an epic party ending with a sparkler exit for the gorgeous Claire & Ashi.

2017 – What An Amazing Year

After thousands of clicks of our cameras over 365 days it all comes down to an end of year 100 from 2 photographers.

Being wedding photographers and also being married with a family means that the days fly by and a whole year can disappear in a blink, in fact 24 years have flown by and we now enter our 25th year in business, 25 years of capturing and presenting memories.

We still feel extremely lucky to do what we do and LOVE what we do, we still get that tingle of excitement when we arrive at a wedding, when we see all the fun & hear the laughter and dare i say we still get a tear in our eyes at those special moments, yep we are extremely lucky.

As we enter a new year and with all the excitement to come we do love to look back at the memories that WE have from 2017 and this is exactly what this blog post is all about, not the technically perfect award winning signature images that we are known for but those moments between the moments that bring back amazing memories & stories that WE have from just the most epic 2017.

So this is our 100 images,Images that made us smile, images that put a little bit of dust in our eye 😉 , images of our travels and new friends we have made, images that just made 2017 one of the best ever.

A year that saw us travel to all parts of the UK & Europe not only as photographers but as photography judges and trainers and photography consultants for some of the biggest names in our industry. From venues 5 mins from where we live to Castles in Scotland and ceremonies on the side of a mountain in the French Alps our wedding photography journey never fails to deliver new experiences.

The high points have been all the new friends we have made along the way who will be friends forever and the new photographers that we have had the pleasure to meet just starting out at our workshops and I have to admit when i meet new photographers we always say the same thing….

Welcome to the best job in the world, WOW are you going to have fun!!!

Combermere Abbey in beautiful Whitchurch, Shropshire has just so many photo locations, its a wedding photographers dream location and we are so glad that Brett & Natasha Chose us to be their Combermere Abbey Wedding Photographers.

Brett & Natasha are the most organised couple you could meet, they booked Combermere Abbey 2 years before their wedding then the week after booked us, well as stated they “didnt want to miss out”

They wanted the whole day to be a relaxed, family/party feel to the day where everybody could just laugh and have fun…. well when Natasha struggled to say her vows due to a fit of the giggles, fun was the theme for the day.

In the perfectly maintained gardens and with the most warmest of summers days guests laughed, drank champagne, played a competitive game of rounders and then had races on Space hoppers….. as you do 🙂

There are so many amazing photography locations at Combermere Abbey and with Brett in his designer suit and Natasha in her stunning blush pink Nicole Spouse Dress and with the lake as a backdrop where just a joy to photograph (we really do have the best job in the world)

Party time followed the speeches and with music from The Rush the dance floor filled, crazy dance moves started and the celebrations went on late into the evening.

Its easy to see why Thornton Manor with its amazing interiors and beautiful gardens is a favourite amongst wedding photographers, set in the beautiful village of Hough on the wirral this exclusive wedding venue is a dream location and we love photographing weddings here. Thornton Manor has so many photo locations as Graham & Lillie found when we photographed their pre wedding photo session earlier in the year.

Now winter weddings are never easy even with a venue as photogenic as Thornton Manor, the light tends to be dark, the temperature is solo cold…. but not for this wedding. WOW it was so warm and the lighting was just amazing, as good if not better than in summer 🙂

Graham & Lille are just adorable and great to be around, they also look amazing and their wedding photography was just so easy to create, they just love being in love with each other and boy does it show in their amazing photos.

Weddings are all about the characters and this wedding had quite a few, the ushers where such a great group and the bridesmaids just laughed all day and when it was time for the speeches well they just raised the bar. Great speeches guys.

Graham & Lillie’s wedding was always going to be a celebration, a celebration of love, family and friends and that pretty much sums up the day… apart from the evening party, that was just sheer enjoyment, the dance floor never emptied.
