2018 – A Year Of Moments

This annual post looking back on the year is one of our favourite posts that we do (Yes I know we need to blog more) Its when we get chance to look back at what happened, a time to take stock and reflect at just how amazing a year we all have had.

Wedding Photography can be so challenging, the moments just fly past and its important that you capture them, and yes while we love our ‘Hero’ shots and our signature images its the moments between the moments that we love and thats what makes up the majority of our look back at 2018.

Now we say this every year…. this is NOT a best of, its photographs that mean something to US, photos that made us smile, laugh, cry or just make us want to go back to that moment.

There so many memories behind these wedding images, from wedding venues 5 minutes from our house to Scottish castles and the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, we have been truly blessed this year with stunning locations and just the best couples, so with that in mind this blog post really is a thank you to YOU for allowing us to be a small part of your amazing memories and thats why we keep saying it…. we do have the best job in the world.

So heres to all our amazing couples who have given us the most awesome memories that we will treasure forever, thank you for your trust in us, thank you for your lovely warm comments throughout the year but mainly thank you for your friendship and for these memories……













































































































Again a huge thank you to all our amazing couples who we had the honour of photographing during 2018, you guys all made it such a special year for us, you made us laugh, you made us cry, you made us feel so welcome and we will never forget that. To our friends in this fantastic industry (you all know who you are) thank you again for your continued support you really make it just a joy to do what we do and to our couples who 2019 is going to be THEIR YEAR then get ready…. its going to be AMAZING !!!!!

Katy & Philips crazy wedding at Kilhey Court

Kilhey court surrounded by its own gardens has over the years been one of our second homes, well it is only 10 mins from where we live 🙂

It was such a joy to photography Katy & Philips wedding as we first met Katy and her family as we photographed her sisters wedding at the equally stunning Ashfield House a few years ago.

One of the joys of documenting weddings with our photography is that you get to meet and make new friends along the way and it was great to meet up again with Katys family.

Now their wedding theme was ‘a black tie dinner with the party to end all parties in the evening’ and boy did this wedding live up to the theme.

Great speeches and dancing on tables was just the pre lude to a pre rehearsed first dance and then BOOM!!!! the dancefloor filled and never emptied

As a storytelling wedding photographer when you have such crazy family & friends who just love to let themselves go and have a good time it certainly makes your job easier… I say Job, Katy & Philips wedding was just a joy to photograph, they are such fun loving people with great family and dare i say…. crazy friends. What a day!!!!

Eaves Hall Wedding Photography – Mat & Rebecca

When we met David & Jane we knew we would feel comfortable with them on our wedding day. They completely understood everything we asked for, they never made us feel like we were asking too much and always had a smile on their face.

WOW so we did have a summer and the sun really did shine at Eaves Hall the stunning exclusive wedding venue near Clitheroe

Eaves Hall is just beautiful and with its views of the Pendle Hill and the surrounding Trough of Bowland you can see why Eaves Hall is very much in demand for weddings

Mathew & Rebecca are just such fun to be around and this gorgeous couple are a joy to photograph as you can see in their amazing wedding photographs

Their wedding was filled with their personality, they made the stationary, the table plan…. even the top table!!! (yes they made the top table) as 1 of 9 tables to mark each year they had been together.

As Documentary Wedding Photographers we love to tell the story, show the colours and capture those little details that you can miss, like when Rebecca opened her wedding gift of a watch from Mat and the detail in Rebecca’s stunning wedding dress to the best mans entrance on Mat’s Grandads mobility scooter that had everybody in stitches.

Mat & Rebecca booked us nearly two years before their wedding and over that time we became friends and thought that nothing could surprise us about them until we asked about their honeymoon……
Well they only went and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro!!! (as you do) and then relaxed in beautiful Zanzibar.

Rebecca’s favourite part of the day was when she became Mrs Baines and dancing and chatting with everyone. And that all important tip…. Just relax everyone will have a good day, don’t sweat about the small things and spend as much time as you can together.

The beautiful colours, the laughter and just the range of emotions during the day made this a wedding we will not forget.

Lancashire Tipi Wedding Photography

Peter & Katie’s Festival Themed Wedding

When we first met Peter & Katie and they told us about their idea of a Tipi Wedding we where instantly hooked…. it sounded amazing, well we love anything thats a bit different 🙂

The ceremony took place at St James the Great with its amazing views, you can even see Blackpool Tower for the church grounds, and the Tipi on the farm next to the church.

Now all they needed was the weather to help…. well lets say it didnt, we had rain, infact a LOT of rain but this didnt spoil what was going to be an amazing day and boy was it.

Hog Roast, real ale and live music just brought a smile to everyone and after some great speeches….. THE SUN CAME OUT!!!!

We just had to use the amazing lancashire countryside as the backdrop for their images and to keep the feel of an outdoor wedding, add to that a gorgeous sunset and we where leaving not only with some amazing images but also some amazing memories 🙂

Ashfield House Hotel is a real gem of a wedding venue and even better its only 5 minutes from Stanbury Photography HQ add to that its stunning gardens, opulent bridal interiors and don’t get me on the amazing food it pretty much goes without saying its perfect for our style of exclusive wedding photography.

The exclusive boutique hotel look & feel of Ashfield House is what Katie & John fell in love with and boy are we glad that they chose Jane & I to be their Ashfield House Wedding Photographers. Katie & John are just the best, so friendly and just genuinely nice people to be around, we had so much fun at their pre shoot and we where so excited when their wedding day came.

The grounds at Ashfield House are just beautiful, the lavender path is just stunning for wedding photography add to that the gorgeous Katie & john we shot some of our favourite wedding photographs, the happy couple just looked amazing and such a joy to photograph.
